Wietmarscher Ambulanz- und Sonderfahrzeug GmbH (WAS) and Fahrzeugbau Dülmer GmbH pooled their capacities at the end of last year by founding the joint venture EMS Panels GmbH. The ground-breaking ceremony for the construction of the new production hall in Pliniusstraße 3 is now the next step as a manufacturer of high-quality composite panels and at the same time a clear commitment by both family-run companies to the Emsbüren site.

Wietmarscher Ambulanz- und Sonderfahrzeug GmbH (WAS) has submitted documents for the internationally recognised EcoVadis sustainability rating for the first time and achieved a great result straight away: With 67 out of a maximum of 100 points, we are among the top 11% of companies worldwide that have been assessed by EcoVadis (as of November 2024). WAS was awarded a silver medal for this sustainability performance.

Another successful vehicle sign off, but this one is special.
We have just completed the world's first OEM frontline ambulance for the London Ambulance Service based on the Ford E-Transit. This all-electric vehicle will be the first of four WAS 500 E-ambulances to hit the streets of London.

The City of Cologne is setting new standards in sustainability and efficiency: With the introduction of the first ambulance with a purely electric drive, the Cologne Fire Department is taking an important step towards environmentally friendly emergency care. The vehicle was presented by City Director Andrea Blome and Federal Transport Minister Dr. Volker Wissing on Thursday, 12 October 2023, at Fire Station 2 in Marienburg.

Delivery of 5 WAS 500 emergency ambulances to the Grand Hospitalier de l'Est Francilien (GHEF) group. The hospital group is renewing its ambulances for its Marne la Vallée-Meaux-Coulommiers sites and the entire Nord-Seine and Marne region.

The last WAS 300 ambulance from the large order for 1000 ambulances for the Egyptian Ambulance Organisation was completed a few days ago by the WAS colleagues in WAS Plant II in Wietmarschen. Currently, the last batch of 135 vehicles is being tested and accepted by our customer. Then the vehicles will be collected one by one and shipped to Antwerp for shipment to Egypt.

A total of 6 new WAS 500 ambulances will embark on a long journey to Chile at the end of September. In November, they will then be officially handed over to the customer Gobierno Regional del Maule, where they will play a key role in the future as multi-purpose emergency ambulances for the transfer and care of critical, bariatric and neonatal patients in the region and significantly improve pre-hospital care in Chile.
